Vasectomy.
Vasectomy is a form of male birth control that cuts the supply of sperm to your semen.
It's done by cutting and sealing the tubes that carry sperm. Dr. Kovac utilizes the ‘no-scalpel’ vasectomy under local anesthesia. It is a quick, sub-20 minute procedure.
Dr. Kovac performs vasectomy using his own special spermatic cord blocking technique that minimizes pain and discomfort. Dr. Kovac is a Urologist, which means he was surgically trained to perform operation on male genitals. Be weary of others who are not.
Before getting a vasectomy you need to be certain you don't want to father children in the future. Although vasectomy reversals are possible, vasectomy should be considered a permanent form of male birth control.
Same day consults and procedures are available (no need to come to the office twice!)
STEP 1: Watch the detailed video below BEFORE you arrive. It details the risks and benefits. You will be asked to sign a consent acknowledging that you have watched this video, and understand its contents, prior to your procedure.
STEP 2: Fill in your pre-visit information through the link that will be sent to you.
STEP 3: Bring tight fitting underwear and shave your scrotum prior to arrival.
STEP 4: Go home and rest. You can drive yourself but it is better to have someone with you. Tylenol, ibuprofen and a bag of frozen peas are your best friends. Pain medications provided per request.
STEP 5: No ejaculating for 1-2 weeks. Then, as much as possible for a month. Return to the office AFTER 2-3 MONTHS for a semen examination that will PROVE you are sterile. Use protection until you hear from Dr. Kovac’s office that you are, in fact, sterile.
